כְּתוּבַּת אִשָּׁה – בְּזִיבּוּרִית, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי יְהוּדָה. רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: בְּבֵינוֹנִית. אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן: מִפְּנֵי מָה אָמְרוּ כְּתוּבַּת אִשָּׁה בְּזִיבּוּרִית? שֶׁיּוֹתֵר מִמַּה שֶּׁהָאִישׁ רוֹצֶה לִישָּׂא, הָאִשָּׁה רוֹצָה לִינָּשֵׂא. דָּבָר אַחֵר: אִשָּׁה יוֹצְאָה לִרְצוֹנָהּ וְשֶׁלֹּא לִרְצוֹנָהּ, וְהָאִישׁ אֵינוֹ מוֹצִיאָהּ אֶלָּא לִרְצוֹנוֹ. מַאי דָּבָר אַחֵר? וְכִי תֵּימָא, כִּי הֵיכִי דְּכִי מַפֵּיק לַהּ אִיהוּ – תַּקִּינוּ לַהּ רַבָּנַן כְּתוּבָּה מִינֵּיהּ; כִּי נָפְקָא אִיהִי נָמֵי – לִיתַקְּנִי לֵיהּ רַבָּנַן כְּתוּבָּה מִינַּהּ? תָּא שְׁמַע: אִשָּׁה יוֹצְאָה לִרְצוֹנָהּ וְשֶׁלֹּא לִרְצוֹנָהּ, וְהָאִישׁ אֵינוֹ מוֹצִיא אֶלָּא לִרְצוֹנוֹ – אֶפְשָׁר דִּמְשַׁהֵי לַהּ בְּגִיטָּא.

The small Gemara above debunks multiple feminist mythologies such as “all Get refusal is abuse”.
It starts off with a discussion of why a divorced woman receives a Ketubah from the husband’s least quality land.
Then the Gemara asks a great question that is never asked today – why shouldn’t a woman who demands divorce from her husband have to pay a Ketubah to her husband?
The answer is that a husband has the power to force divorce on his wife, so (if she did not provoke the divorce) he has to pay her a Ketubah payment as compensation for being forced to divorce.
The wife however cannot force divorce on her husband, so she does not pay him a Ketubah payment.
But if the wife provokes a divorce while causing damages to the husband, then the Gemara clearly states that the husband may delay the Get until he is compensated from his wife.
The Gemara is clearly teaching that “all Get refusal is NOT abuse”!
We see here that thousands of years ago the ancient Torah sages instituted a basic concept of equity in the husband’s rights and the wife’s rights. Both are entitled to compensation if they are divorced without halachic justification, only the method of compensating is different for the husband and wife.
This basic equity is demolished in misandrist “Orthodox” feminism where women may use feminist organizations to force Gittin so that the husband may have no ability to collect damages from his wife in return for the Get.
ORA “values” are feminist values, NOT Torah values.
