A woman nowadays can falsely claim to be an “agunah” to win unqualified support from many ignorant, allegedly Orthodox Jews who join with the fake agunah warriors to persecute a decent husband until he delivers an invalid, coerced Get.
The women falsely characterized as “agunot” never seem to be held accountable for conducting a halachic divorce process.
A true “agunah” is a woman whose husband has disappeared and she wants him back.
If a woman has any means to resolve her divorce conflict and obtain a Get, but she refuses to take the necessary action, she cannot possibly be an “agunah”.
